A number of credit card users are seeking to borrow a smaller amount of money this year, new survey results suggest.
Figures from Moneybasics.co.uk and GE Money Home Lending have shown that as many as 17.4 million of those facing credit card debt and repayments relating to other unsecured forms of borrowing have this aspiration.
Chris Tapp of Credit Action, one of the organisations behind Moneybasics.co.uk, believes that people should aim to improve the health of their finances.
"Far too many of us have bad financial habits; we never check our bank balance when withdrawing money from an ATM, we don't open bills," Mr Tapp, director of the body, stated.
Financial issues are leading 51 per cent of people to worry about their present situation, according to the Moneybasics.co.uk survey.
A number of people in their late 30s and early 40s do not believe that they have much control when it comes to their financial situation, F&C Investments/OnePoll.com figures have also recently suggested.
