People 'should seek guidance' to escape debt cycle
It might prove useful for people to seek guidance from a financial advisor if they are struggling to deal with unmanageable debt, it has been suggested.

This may be a good idea if consumers are having to get credit to meet the costs of high street shopping trips, Ann Robinson, uSwitch.com's director of consumer policy, feels.

She noted: "I would urge anyone in this spiral to take time out to talk to a trusted friend or advisor to try to break the cycle.

"Getting into unmanageable debt is not the answer."

USwitch.com recently published research highlighting the guilty feelings experienced by some UK shoppers.

Almost a tenth of consumers who reported feelings of guilt in the firm's survey have made use of credit that is unaffordable to them when purchasing goods.

Meanwhile, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service has recently highlighted the growing popularity of its CCCS Debt Remedy online service, which offers debt support.
