Inaccurate bills 'hitting people's finances'
Inaccurate bills have hit the finances of a number of the country's householders in recent times, new figures suggest.

When it comes to people's energy expenditure, the difference between estimated and actual bills can be great, according to uSwitch.com.

Research published by the switching website has shown that such discrepancies have caused 43 per cent of UK homeowners to owe their supplier money in recent times.

Consumers have found themselves owing a sum of £153 on average.

The site's consumer policy director Ann Robinson has noted that some people are trying to take action to address inaccurate bills.

She commented: "The fact that more households are providing suppliers with meter readings will play no small part in improving the accuracy of our energy bills."

Meanwhile, uSwitch.com last month published separate researching showing that some consumers have recently felt bad about going shopping because they are having to get credit that they cannot afford to pay for goods.
