Householders 'should prioritise credit card debt'
Any credit card debts that people have accrued should be prioritised when they come to make repayments, an expert has recently claimed.

Jasmine Birtles, founder of the financial website MoneyMagpie.com, has encouraged families in the UK to improve their focus when it comes to budgeting.

On the subject of debt, she has commented: "The important thing for the household is firstly to pay off debt, that's really, really important.

"If they have got credit card debt then that should be their first focus."

Ms Birtles further suggested that people may be able to improve how they manage their finances by strengthening their awareness of how their outgoings compare with the earnings of their household.

The FSA has recently revealed figures which show that over the past year, as many as 16 per cent of the parents polled in a recent survey may have faced financial difficulties of some kind.
