Xmas travellers 'should shop around for fuel'
Higher fuel prices could provide people with an incentive to shop around for petrol if they are planning to travel over the Christmas period, an expert suggests.

RAC has noted some of the price increases that motorists have recently had to endure if they want to fill up their car.

The organisation's regional manager David Hawes now believes that consumers may have to search in more than one place if they are to find the most cost-effective deals.

He said: "Those with engines running on unleaded petrol will be paying over 20p more per litre this year so it's worth shopping around to get the best price."

While such advice may help those looking to manage credit card debt by keeping a close eye on their spending, the RAC has also offered people practical guidance concerning winter driving, focusing on issues such as tyre pressure.

Meanwhile, the AA has also recently urged people to do all they can to prevent their cars from being stolen during the colder months.
