Budget 'could make 67% of people worse off'
A large number of the country's consumers believe they might be less well off because of the coalition government's emergency Budget, survey results have suggested, which may impact on those looking to overcome bad credit ratings.

Figures published by uSwitch.com have shown that as many as 67 per cent of those queried in a recent poll feel that they could be worse off because of the chancellor's proposals.

Now that the Budget has been announced, the study also suggests that 83 per cent of people might look to alter their behaviour.

The switching website's director of consumer policy Ann Robinson commented that people seem to be worried about the Budget on a personal level.

She said: "While it may succeed in tackling the national debt in the long run, consumers are clearly concerned about what it means for them personally in the shorter run."

Earlier this week, Ms Robinson also noted the impact that the government's childcare cuts might have on families.
