Younger consumers offered money management guidance
Money management guidance is being provided to a number of the country's younger consumers this week.

Backed by the National Skills Academy Financial Services (NSAFS), Money Week will run until March 12th, with those attending a number of further education colleges expected to benefit from advice.

The organisation's chief executive officer Sylvia Perrins said that it is important to educate people about personal finance issues.

She continued: "Personal finance is a key skill which we believe should be taught from a young age to assist, maintain and strengthen the development of our financial services industry."

Ms Perrins noted that the events taking place in support of this year's Money Week initiative could enhance people's "financial capability".

While the tutorials being staged may help people to avoid problems relating to things like credit card debt, a number of more light-hearted events are also due to be held.

NS&I's senior savings spokesman Tim Mack has also recently encouraged consumers to assess their current financial situation as the 2009/10 tax year nears completion.
