C&CCC aiming to improve people's cheque understanding

UK consumers are to be given the chance to learn more about cheque payments through an online video resource.

Developed by the country's Cheque and Credit Clearing Company (C&CCC), the video aims to provide people with information about the ways in which cheques are cleared.

The organisation's managing director Angela Thomas believes that the film will offer people a clear source of information.

She said: "Our research shows that not many of us are actually aware what happens to a cheque when it is paid into an account."

Meanwhile, people with credit card debt hoping to use cheques as part of their money management may also be keen to note that details about bouncing cheques will also be included in the video's content.

Earlier in the autumn, the C&CCS launched new guidance, which aimed to lower the chances of cheque users falling victim to instances of financial fraud.
