Ofwat aiming to ensure 'value for money' for water bill payers
Ofwat, the body which regulates water supplies in England and Wales, is aiming to ensure that bill payers get good value for money in the next few years, it has been suggested.

The organisation has confirmed that between the years 2010 and 2015, people are likely to face bills which are largely flat when it comes to water and sewerage, in a development that may offer welcome news to consumers trying to get out of credit card debt.

Chief executive officer of the regulator Regina Finn commented that Ofwat shops around for prices on behalf of consumers.

She said: "Customers have told us that they want us to keep water and sewage charges flat while maintaining a safe, reliable supply of water. That's what we've delivered."

Meanwhile, Consumer Focus has recently suggested that people may be paying more than they should for their heating bills, with the organisation now wanting to see an investigation into the issue.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19484838-ADNFCR
